hey everyone i have a 2000 f4 and my second and sixth gear dogs are going bad. my brother has an 02 f4i motor. would it be possible to put the tranny internals from the f4i into my f4?

Should be all the same. Id check with a dealer an look at parts list. And DEFF buy a good shop manual.

i was told 2 diff things. one guy said the main shaft in the f4i tranny is bigger than the f4 main shaft.

If the shafts are bigger, then yeah it won't work. Best way t do it WITHOUT a manual is compare them. If they have the same number of teeth on the gears and dogs are same, then you SHOULDN't have a problem. But get a manual and do it right the first time. Probably find cheap replacement parts on ebay or here on STUNTLIFE. Good luck with that.

i talked to my local bike shop and the guy said the shafts and everything are the same because hes done the same swap the only thing is i need bigger sprockets to compensate for the extension in the f4i gear ratio.
