Trying to find the thread talking about machining an F4i wheel to fit 929 bearings. Can anyone help? Or does anyone know what all needs to be done? Just machine, put bearings in, put spacers in, run 929 rotors, bolt on and go?? Heard about this before, but never had time to look into it.

Go to a bearing shop and see if they can get you bearings with a f4i o.d. And a 929 I.d.

i did that they dont... i tryed gettin a bearin that was the 954 size on the center of the bearing. and the f4i size on the outside of the bearing


you have to machine the spot for the bearing to fit the 954/929 bearings. and the center for that spacer sleeve thing... and i used a washer as a extra spacer on the axle cause the rim isnt quite as wide ..

954 rotors bolt right up to a f4i wheel...

 

yeah, my front wheel is f4i, machined out for the 954 bearings. it was the first official one that bill did. the wheels are the same width. the spacer in the center moves around a decent amount. and im pretty sure there is someone that got bearings that fit the f4i wheel with the 954 bearing.

 

cheapest way to do it...

f4i axle with machined collar that goes over the f4i axle

one side of the f4i axle fits in the 929 one does not

no bearings needed

i had this for over a year on my f4i wheel 929 rotors n forks till i found a deal on a mint 929 wheel n axle
