Motor mount bolt is stripped now what???

Motor mount bolt is stripped now what???

took off my FI cage on my f4i and was goin to replace it with my new SI cage and i find that the bolt that goes through the top of the cage into the motor mount is stripped any suggestions.... i figured i could prolly try and tap it

thats what i would do but if it's too screwed up you may need to drill it out to the next size up and tap it

just be careful because if i remember correctly there is a hump at the back of the motor mount on the f4i and if you go in too far with the tap it will snap off then you are in for some fun..lol

helicoil is best, you can tap it one size bigger though, gotta drill the cage hole bigger also

use a time-sert, works way better than a heli-coil, one of those and a bit of loc-tite, your good to go!
