Re: Tensioner Gone Bad......

Bought my 01 f4i with the CCT going. 22k miles. It's not too too bad, but I got a new manual one on the way. I hate the efing noise. To my understanding, it's a bad design on all CBRs.

Re: Tensioner Gone Bad......

on hondas the tensioner starts rattling at around 6-8k miles

go with a manual one, and you MIGHT have to adjust it every 6-10k miles.. Buy a OEM one, and you will HAVE to replace it every 6-10k unless you wanna hear the rattling again.

From what I hear, the tensioner doen't lose tension.. It just starts rattling. I ran my bike to about 25k with it sounding like **** before I got a manual tensioner

my 636 has 25k and the rattling was crazy loud. i hadnt rode in a few months due to a shattered clavicle and now its quiet as hell. it almost worries me how quiet its been running as of late.

I'm not sure about 636's, and I believe OMR said on 636's when it rattles, it's from it not holding tension (but I could be wrong..)

Honda's are different though from what I read, and they aren't actually losing tension, just rattling and anoying..

My tensioner on my f4i seemed fine when I removed it, but still rattled like ****

Re: Tensioner Gone Bad......

manual ape. Just don't over tighten it. Don't go oem cause you'll just find yourself replacing it again.
