I have no clue......

i have an 01 f4i, so here's the deal. i was riding allday yesterday with no problems whatsoever. here it is like midnight, now my bike wanna act up. i stopped for like 20min. to wait for more people to get there. now it's time to pull off, and the bike wouldn't start. it was turning over, but nothing was happening. tried to push start it and still wasn't happening. and the whole time the headlight was off also. as far as the headlight also, i have it connected to the highbeam from the switch. so i thought it was the kill switch, cause that turns on the fuel pump when it's in the run position. broke the switch and twisted the wires to bypass it. it worked, so we thought that was it. turned the key off and on again, and the fuel pump didn't come on again. now mind you the headlight ain't on neither, but my rear turning signals were staying on solid, and i didn't have the indicators even turned on.(weird). anyway, started just shaking things up, and got it to come on. so i thought it was fixed til we made another stop. i turned the key on, and the bike started, but now the headlight is off again. i messed around til it came back on, but i don't know exactly what made it come back on again. after that, i called it a night. i went out there this morning and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. the bike starts everytime, the headlights working. i have no clue as to whats up with the bike. i don't wanna be out somewhere and have that happen again. thats not a good feeling......... if anyone has any idea, please let me know what to look for or do. all advice is greatly appreciated.....

i definitely wouldnt wheelie the bike with it acting up like that. stating the obvious here but if you shook **** around and jiggled wires and it started after doing that, you gotta have a bad wire somewhere. Maybe its grounding out on something I know you said you checked all the basic **** but Id check all the wiring again. I know I wasnt much help mayn. Good luck

pull the harness completely off and redo it while checking EVERYTHING! time consuming but mousetrapping is the worst!
