F4i fuel pump not priming

I can't get the fuel pump to prime on my f4i and was just curious to know if the rear harness (tail light/rear signals harness) was necessary. That's probably the only thing missing on my bike and I can't think of anything else. Also, I noticed that there was a red wire that comes off of the positive terminal on the battery. Does anyone know what that's for?

Some of the things I've checked are:
Tip sensor wires jumped
fuel pump is good
fuses are good
replaced the ignition

I'm looking into replacing the ECU and the voltage rectifier next. I can't really think of anything else, any suggestions would be much appreciated

Re: F4i fuel pump not priming

switch the fan relay with the fuel pump relay and try it. My fuel pump relay just went and the bike would not start till i tried this. If thats the case dont forget to get a new relay for the fan!

I'll have to try that, thanks. Where exactly are these relays? Under the seat, there's the starter relay, right?

After I put my motor back in, I had put 95% of my bike back together and I spent over an hour going over the ****** trying to figure out why my fuel pump wasn't running. It was because my headlight wasn't plugged in! (that was seriously the only thing, other than the plastics, that wasn't on the bike)

ya, it's because your tip over sensor is mounted on top of your head light and runs through the same harness.

look it up.

Re: F4i fuel pump not priming

the red wire off the positive battery wire must be hooked up runs back to one of the relays in the back
