Initial throttle cable adjustment
Initial throttle cable adjustment
Just installed new throttle cables on the f4i and was seeing the best way for the initial adjustment. Should I screw the adjustments all the way in up by the throttle tube and than adjust from down by the throttle bodies themselves. How do you guys do it initially? I don't want to be stuck with out any more adjustment room once the cable stretches out.
Re: Initial throttle cable adjustment
lube those cables while your at it and dont adjust them too tight because if you are running aftermarket handlebars and turn the bars all the way the throttle may surge from getting yanked on because the cables arent long enough.
Re: Initial throttle cable adjustment
Major adjustments are made at the throttle bodies, fine tuning adjustments are done at the throttle.
Set the accelator cable at the TB's to have complete travel from closed to wide open and the set the return cable to take up the slack. That should get you pretty close.
As previously mentioned, make sure nothing is draging from stop to stop on your steering.
Once the TB's are set, you can then make minor adjustments at the bar.
Hope that helps.
