f4i cooling fan not coming on.

The fan won't come on even when the bike is over 225 degrees. There is coolant in the system all the way up to the top of the rad. If I take that one connection that plugs in under the hose and ground it to the frame with the key on the fan turns on. Is it possible that the connection that it plugs into is not working? Any help would be great.

Yup fuse is good. Checked that first, and then jumped the fan.

Thanks thats what I thought, but I hate to just throw parts at something to try and fix it. I also was looking earlier at the manual and didn't really see them label that under their cooling. Thanks a lot.

Ok I pulled the Thermo switch from the rad. Is there anyway I can test to see if that unit is bad?

Re: f4i cooling fan not coming on.

Did you JUST let it hit 225? or did you let it go a little higher?

The fan isn't supposed to come on tell 230

Re: f4i cooling fan not coming on.

No I let it go up to 245 than turned down the idle and did some laps to cool it off. I was told I can measure the resistance in ohms with a multi meter to see if the thermo sensor is bad. I was told if there is no resistance than the sensor is bad or if there is no change in resistance when it is heated up and cooled down that it is bad. Sound right?
