954/929 frontend on f4i
i know this has been done to death but i have gotten differences in oppinion. step by step what has to be done and what is needed? and maybe sticky this for in the 4-5 years this mod has been done not alot of kids have done it themselves. i have heard of the f4i races having to be taken out and 954 ones put in. i have heard you need stock 954 bearrings is all you need. i have heard all honda bearrings are the same. a friend told me today he just bolted his right up and i just need stock 954 bearrings but to check around first to be sure. so help me and the other kids that just don't get it yet

Youll need:
929/954 race and bearings (AllBallz kit for 929/954)
929/954 upper/lower tripple (or any other 50mm upper and lower - rc51/1000rr)
929/954 wheel and rotors (or machine the f4i wheel, but still need the rotors)
929/954 fender
929/954 forks
929/954 axel and spacers
I just redid the whole front end on my bike, the guy I got it from kept the f4i bearings in, and the lower tripple will hit and crack the frame if not swapped out
929/954 race and bearings (AllBallz kit for 929/954)

thanks for the good info bro. i have read different concerns on the allballz kit, alot of people say go with stock over that kit. do you know of the differences or advantages of either?

No problem man. Both stock and AllBallz are tapered bearings. I've heard nothing but good things bout AllBallz so I decided to go with them, plus the kit comes with races bearings and seals.

AllBalls are all tapered bearings, the f4i ball bearing are garbage, I've never heard a f4i stock front end that didn't pop. My 929 front end had the ball bearings in it when I got it and the lower tripple hit the frame and was cracked. Replaced em with tapered AllBalls and no more hit

My lower tripple hit and cracked my frame with the f4i races and bearings yes! I swapped out to a 929 AllBalls kit and no more hit. Does everyone have this problem I dunno but mine did. Why would anyone want to keep the shitty f4i bearings in that frontend anyway? You'll have it apart why not upgrade to tapered bearings, its not difficult
