this is a buddies bike we're trying to bring back to life...i don't know jack **** about gixxers, so ne info would be helpful.

you can skip to where it says "SKIP TO HERE" if you don't wanna read the unnecessary bullshit.

8 months ago, he looped it....the bike sat for 8 ******* months with half tank of gas and all fluids (no rust in tank)

aside cosmetics and gauges...the only damange was...

1. stator
2. stator cover
3. magneto?? (the metal hollow thing the stator fits into)

took it to the dealer to replace magneto...apparently it needed a "special" tool to pull it out.

new stator and cover. new oil and coolant.

bytheway, took out the plugs, and the bike was NOT hydrolocked.

so after replacing everything and hooking up a new battery, turned on the ignition and you hear fuel pump prime.

motor was locked, it would not start....took off the cover....tried to turn on the bike, you see the starter spin, and you can spin the crankshaft? (the piece that the starter is supposed to spin)

so for some reason, when we put in the starter assembly, it locks up....tried putting washers in different positions, didn't help much.

sometimes, we would get lucky and hear the motor turn over if the starter motor didn't get locked up...but this happened for maybe 2-3 seconds, and the bike would not start/fire.

has this happened to anyone before?

****.. I'm stumped bro.. At first I was going to say tilt sensor, but I'm sure you already rectified that right? And plus it turned over a couple of times... drain the gas and put some new **** in maybe...

Sounds like everything is in order and it should fire right up

 

That's true.. I thought he said they put in a new batt. but some new batteries don't come fully charged too... worth takin a look.
