2003-2004 636 fork help

Ive seen the threads on these breaking, and Ive read up on how to keep them up and possibley from breaking.

My question is, is there anyway to look at a set of these forks and tell either if they are still good and can be maintained or if they are past the point of no return and shouldnt be trusted?

(I bet OMR knows...hint, hint)

Re: 2003-2004 636 fork help

any movement at all between the chrome part of the fork and the part of the fork that the axle goes though and they are junk and if there is oil leaking from the bottom of the chrome part they are junk .....

the 05 06 fork tubes have a thicker wall so they are stronger
