problem with no signals- 05 636

I need to get this bike inspected asap soooo i need to get the turning signals fixed, none of them work no matter what they just stopped working one day I have checked all the wiring (from what i gather) and the fuzes and my only two other guesses is that i missed something in the wiring and the switch on my handlebar is bad.

is there a possible way to check my wiring to see if i have "voltage"or power going through the lines at all or to check the switch on my handlebars? i need help puhhhlease

how is that going to do me any good? or were you saying that just to be like screw signals lol cause i dont care if they are there or not its for inspection purposes only, but i know that the signals themselves must be good because they all went bad in one shot and ive checked the bulbs i just dont know how to check the wiring by cutting it and checking for power between the switch and the compy for the bike

Re: problem with no signals- 05 636

thats what ive always heard....1 mirror, light over the license plate, must be 12 inches off the ground, must have 4 working turn signals, 2 front 2 rear or have 0 turn signals and use hands (that is legal btw)... so just take them off....why the **** would they ask you about hand signals on the mc test if you could only use the turn signals?

Get a test light and take apart and clean the the switch and check for power in, with clean switch connection you should have power out= signals.

Re: problem with no signals- 05 636

yea a test light should do the trick, Try testing all the wires from the switch to see if u have a blinking pulse of power (while the blinker is on) also could test the wires at the bulbs sockets,
Do u get a soild light when u turn the blinker on?

Yes yes we get it but who gives a **** about inspections seriously? I'm sure half the people on this site don't even have registered bikes.

Re: problem with no signals- 05 636

I'll be darned, turn signals required on all motorcycles in NY state after 1985. First time I've heard of that.

Start at the battery and trace power. Since you lost all of them at the same time, I would focus on the relay or the switch.

Hope this helps some.
