Re: wont start f4i
just jumped the fuel pump,,,,, works good,,
checked the emergence kill switch,, i cycles the relay on the tail,,, but the other relay still does nothing,,,,, should i just try a new harness,,,, the injectors have power, to them,,, i know if there not all put in a serease they will not work,,,
iv checked for frays in the wire with no luck,, did find where the previous owner
hacked the tip sensor off the bike,,,

Re: wont start f4i
the two relays on the subframe are for engine cut off and fuel pump relay. I believe the manual states how to diagnose them both. If you dont have it i can find it. To me it still sounds like a grounding issue. keep us posted...

Re: wont start f4i
basically im in the same boat. The manual states to test the connection to the fuel pump then 30 amp 10amp , then relays. After that they point to the ECU. My relay clicks only when I turn the bike to off though. when does yours click. I wont have time till later to check the manual again though. As i said my bike is doing the same **** so well rigure it out..side note check all wiring coming out of the ecu. I've had problems in the past were the wiring right there can break or come out of the ecu and cause problems...something to check.

checked that,,,,,,, will look closer,,,,,,,, and the main harness wass almose disconnected,,,, put that tight,, nothing,,,,, will look at the computer,, there is no spark from the plugs,,, i would say bank/lean angle sensor but i dont have one,,,, so this is starting to point to the computer or connetions

Re: wont start f4i
Check the bottom of the fuse box where the TOS wires run. My F4I did this and it turned out that the wire had become slightly dislodged from the fuse box. Took forever to find it too.

Re: wont start f4i
If anyone wants it I have the manual for the f4i's in a pdf, its just to big for email or this (i tried twice to post it)
Random question, took my f4i apart today, its my second, and there are stickers that say F42 all over the bike. The actual sticker says CBR600F42, anyone seen these before because even on my other f4i everything said f4i?

Re: wont start f4i
I checked the fuel pump connector at the harness.
ignition switch to "ON" measure voltage between terminals.
Connection. Brown (+) - Green (-)
There should be batt voltage for a few sec.
IF there is batt voltage, replace fuel pump.
IF there is no batt volt. inspect the following:
-Main fuse 30A (check)
-Sub fuse 10A (check)
-Engine stop switch:U can check continuity between Ignition and BATT when switch is on.
-Fuel Cutoff relay: Connect a ohmmeter to the connection terminal. (black/white - brown) then 12v to (brown/black - black/white) S/B continuity when 12v is connected.
-Engine stop relay: Connect a ohmmeter checking connection Red/white - black. The other side connect to 12V (Red/white - black. S/B continuity when 12v is connected.
-bank angle sensor: S/B disconnected. check.
-ECM: theres a special tool they use to check wiring harness and ECM. ONce your here its either spend time hunting for the short in your harness or get a new harness/ECM.
These are things to check when you know you have spark but no fuel.
I know F4i's have issues with wiring harnesses fraying near the ECM also....
