I HAVE A SPARE 03-04 636 MOTOR I WANTED TO PUT IN MY 636 CAUSE MY CURRENT MOTOR IS A PILE OF ****.
THE SPARE MOTOR I HAVE IS FROM A CALIFORNIA MODEL BIKE AND HAS THAT BLACK BOX ON THE SIDE.
MY QUESTION IS CAN I JUST PULL THE BOX OFF AND USE THE MOTOR LIKE IT WAS NEVER THERE OR DO I HAVE TO KEEP THE BOX WITH THE MOTOR?

THERE IS NO EMMISIONS OR INSPECTIONS HERE IN FLORIDA.

i seen a thread about doing the clean air mod on a cali bike and they just took all the emissions **** off and ran the crankcase vent tube to the pair valve

 

no worries! there is a vacuum line that runs from the #4 throttle body to that box. just cap it off. and remove that ****. the 05 I just hot is a CA model

The only difference is the tank with 2 lines running to a canister then to a charcoal box with one vacuum line tying into that.
