Re: Front end noise during stoppies....

check that the bottom part of the fork tube(shiney part) isnt loose from the part that the calipers bolt to. Lins did this recently and I think that being loose is what causes the forks to snap(like in that famous pic of the blue 636)

yeah, theres a tool you use to hold the tube while you tighten the bottom part, you can do it without it, but you wont be able to tighten it as much

im not saying thats what it is but definitely check and make sure the bottom part of your fork isn't loose and even if it isn't get your self some 05 06 07 08 forks , you will also need the rotors and fender for the swap ..

the 05 06 07 08 have a thicker wall on the chrome tube so they are stronger then the 03 04 forks....

now with all that being said make sure its not your rotors, flick all the rings that hold your rotors together and see if they are loose at all

Re: Front end noise during stoppies....

i think its your upper fairing! QUICK! sell it to me! before something goes wrong!!

naw its probly whateverone else said.
on my 03 forks isnt it jus the allen head on the bottom of the fork?
or is there something else?

i got 05 forks with 07 rotors and serious SO much better. jus the 20mm diffrence in rotor diameter made a big diffrence. and then i got a sponsorship by RG3 suspension, who is just geting in the street scene.
brapp! so awesome!

oh an what omr said about rotors, seen it... check it!

there is a set screw on the inside of the fork leg that holds the fork tube from turning but im not even suggesting actually tightening the fork tube all i was saying is look to see if the tube has play where it goes into the bottom of the fork and also to see if there is any gap between the fork tube and the part it screws into
