heavy fork Shake/vibrations *NEED HELP*

since one year I have the problem of heavy fork shake/vibrations when doing donuts and at the end of stoppies. I changed the steering bearing, brake rotors and pads, put thicker oil in the fork, changed tires but all that didnīt help......anybody got an idea what else it could be?

Re: heavy fork Shake/vibrations *NEED HELP*

when is the last time you changed the brake pads?

I have the same issue right now, but only when I do burn outs..stoppies are fine. I put the bike on a front stand and the front wheel spins beautifully. I flushed the fluid too. The only other things I can think of to try are to change the pads or the front tire. Maybe the pads are glazed too much or maybe the tire is worn funny/cupped

When you installed new bearings, did you installed TAPERED BEARINGS?

If not, get a set of All ***** tapered bearings..

The stock ball bearings are junk.. Known for head shakes..

Re: heavy fork Shake/vibrations *NEED HELP*

Always change your brake lines to steelbreaded lines. What happens under heavy breaking the fluid will bounce off of the weak parts of your stock lines and ballon and bounce back. It causes an inconstant preshure and will cause a shake.

Itīs not head shake, the fork shakes forward and backward very fast so it vibrates.

I think the last thing to do is the fork bushings

Change your fork bushings if you havent allready. Its good to check these everytime the fork seals are changed. If you start to se some copper color on the darker surface on the bushing then its timne to change it. Its suppose to have the same color all around the surface.

I had the same problem as you have. Changed everything and the problem is now gone.

Re: heavy fork Shake/vibrations *NEED HELP*

my fork was overhaueld and everything was fine for the last three days. today i practiced some stuff and the shaking came back. the mechanic who made my fork told me he has not changed the bushings, he only smoothed them out by grinding the bushings. hope this is the problem with my fork. Are you sure the bushings are the reason for this ****?

Re: heavy fork Shake/vibrations *NEED HELP*

there not expensive and something alot of ppl overlook. just change them anyway and worst case is you can cancell them out as being the problem if it doesnt fix it. why didnt the mechanic just change them if he has them all apart anyway?
