"big" newbie needs advice badly!!
first off I would like to say hello to everyone! This is my first post on the board. Now, I am hawaiian/russian, (i know.....i know...) and at 6ft 7in 300lbs (damn!), stuntin takes a lot more for me! Right now I have a 99 honda cbr600 f4 and its my first sportbike. second bike overall. To date, my best I can do is a christ on the tank, and of course stoppies arent a prob. my thing is wheelies. I use the on off on method and usually get the tire up about 2 feet for about 10 feet or so and ONCE and once only, got the thing almost to a 12 doing this. Of course it scarred me cause I never thought that it would do THAT good and I set it down HARD after about 25 feet. So i know if my big *** can be (with practice) wheelied on a stock geared 600f4, I should have an easier time on say an R1 right? Cause that is the bike Im looking to buy in about 2 weeks. Do you all think that it will wheelie better with stock gearing with my weight than my f4? I know its got more power and so its like duh but I just need to hear it from more experianced riders! thanks y'all!
by the way, How many BIG riders in here?

hey man. Welcome. first off i'd like to point out that every pro stunter i've ever heard of is a member on stuntlife. not to mention many many others who are just as if not close to that skill level (myself not included still just ridin out wheelies and endos) so you've come to the right place. to answer ur question there will be a world of difference in "gettin it up" ease goin from a 600 to a 1000cc bike! your weight really won't hold u back much. when i went from a 98 gixer 750 to an 02 1000 it scared the s*** outta me cause the 1000 will get it up at half throttle (no clutch) in first. and the 750 was no slouch either. hehe good times
R1 is a very light and powerfull machine, even for a guy your size! It will wheelie just fine, just watch out for 1st gear unless you know what you're doing! Learn to clutch your wheelies up in second gear and you can pretty much do it on any 600 or bigger, stock geared.
Waazup man, I'm 6' 250 and ride an 01 R1. I learned how to wheelie by lots of practice and understanding how your bike reacts to what you are trying to make it do. I first learned the 1st gear wheelie by the on off on method. Then I tried the same method with 2nd but couldnt quite get it up unless I slid my *** back a little in the saddle. Then i tried 2nd gear standups which in my opinion is easier than sit downs. After that tried 3rd gear and nothing happened there until I went up two teeth in the rear. Now I ride 1st gear sitdowns (not very often or far) and 2, 3 and 4 th gear standups all the time. Just find a road where the least traffic is and start slow. practice is the only way you'll get it. Wear your gear playa.
yo guy being a big kid wont stop you Im 6'2 310I ride a 900 rr stock gearing and just started doing 12 s with no problem I never rode a f4 but I did wheelie a friend f2 stock gears and 35000 miles so im sure the f4 would be no problem use your size to help you a little body english goes a long way at 300 plus good luck get some pics up mine are on the dirty jersey page
right on! hey thank you all for the feedback! I was kinda scared that I would be laughed at or flamed cause of my size. Where I live is like a bradybunch town and a big guy trying to stunt a little bike is a joke that never looses its humer around here. Thats why none of the other sportbikers around here will ride with me often. The ones that used to got added to the joke! HEH! anyways thanx again all, and I will try to get some pics up soon!
