sprocket painting

I apologize if this can be found using search, but mine seems to be about as usful as a monkey ******* a football. I was wondering if anyone out there had any luck with painting sprockets/chains. And having them stay painted. It seems like the chain wouldnt be too bad, I remember I did that once a long time ago. But I never tried a sprocket. Any suggestions or tips would be great.

Re: sprocket painting

yup, clean the crap out of the sprocket, sand, and paint. looks better and lasts longer if you use an automotive base/clear.
