636 Radiator Fan Switch Yes Or No?

wondering if anyone adds a switch to the radiator fans on an 03 04 636 so they can manually turn the fans on to run constant when riding the lots or if its not needed? if so how do you add a switch in and where?

i see a lot of radiator brackets are snapping as well, anyone do anything in particular to make them stronger or to reinforce them?

I put a switch on mine, on the left side fairing close to the radiator aiming upward. As for the bracket......no idea, thats why my radiator and fan is held on by zip ties. Both fan and radiator are not even from a 636.

cut the two wires that come out of the radiator on the left and put a switch on it...... i have 2 heavy duty zip ties from my radiator to my cage....

dont forget to turn that switch on, or you will dump coolant every where

thats why you leave the thermostat connected and dont just cut both wires, I add a switch inline so if you forget to turn it on it will still come on automatically if the bike gets hot.

No you have to tap into both wires to complete the circuit, the thermostat is basically a switch that is turned on and off with temp....So your just adding another switch before it that can bypass that thermo switch....just skin some of the plastic covering off both wires just before the thermo, and add in a switch .....

the 2 wires that come out of the thermo, strip some of each wire.... put a switch in....

it will form an H with the wires and switch

RADIATOR
l l
l-l
l l

the l is the wire... the - is the switch

this is my understanding.... this right johnny?

Yup thats it if you add it in before the thermo switch on the rad, then it will still turn on automatically when the bike gets too hot. Or you can turn it on manually at any time via your switch.....

You just have to remember to turn it off, because the 636 fan has constant power at all times. So even with the bikes igniton switch off, the fan will still run....

Sometimes I forget and drain the battery while Im takin a break, so I have to bump start.....
