03 F4i fuel pump wont work

Its a stunt pig and we were puttin it back together after it was taken apart. The freakin fuel pump wont run. It will turn over and spark, it even will run if you pour fuel into it. But it wont run the pump. Am I missing something?! All the fuses in the fuse box are good (is there a separate one for the fuel pump?!) the wire tests ok but is only like 9.67 volts?! What am I doing wrong and where do I begin? I have replaced the ENTIRE harness AND PCM / CDI (or W/E TF that thing under the seat is) with no results! Pretty pissed off man...2 engines, 2 sets of throttle bodies, 2 wire harness', 2 PCM (w/e), and STILL no fuel pump! Dude said it worked just fine before he took it apart The fuel tank was in tact and has fuel in it so nothing inside was tampered with!

Re: 03 F4i fuel pump wont work

maybe he lied ???

you probably already did this but make sure your tip over is mounted right side up or bypassed and there is a diode in the ignition that some times goes bad so if you have a buddy with an f4i try plugging in his ignition

Re: 03 F4i fuel pump wont work

Thx OMR I do have the tipover bypassed by butt connecting the wires together. The fuel pump wire gives some voltage but only like 9.67 volts?! We hooked a loose fuel pump to it and it smoked the **** out of some lil capacitor lookin thing mounted on the pump. Like SMOKED it bad, stunk up the garage. So I dunno man maybe the pump is bad! I'd hate to think a member on here lied to me about the condition of a bike they sold me! I'll just get a new pump and try again I guess!

Electrical system silly
Check the service manual for the voltage specs. It could be a rectifier/ regulator or stator issue. This is very uncommon on Hondas. late 90+ Yamahogs are prone to these issues

You guys are gonna laugh...seriously I would! My buddy when putting it back together plugged the fuel pump into the speed sensor plug. Its the same plug and in the same area. We found it Friday night switched them back and it runs great! Sorry for the retard moment!
