900rr rear wheel woes
900rr rear wheel woes
Alright, so I just got my 900rr rear wheel back from the powdercoater and I'm trying my best to fit it on my f4i. The problem is that the spacers are off by maybe a cm (using the 900rr chain side spacer). After fumbling around I finally noticed my hub isn't actually flush with the wheel. Is this normal or is this definitely my problem? The wheel got powdercoated inside where the cush drive goes.. I'm guessing I'm going to need to sand that down completely? Or is there some chemical solvent that'll take off the powder coat?
Re: 900rr rear wheel woes
Might be the powdercoat pushing it away
Re: 900rr rear wheel woes
That's what I'm thinking sortof.
But when I don't have the cush drive in, I can sit the hub a lot closer (pretty much 99.9% flush) so that makes me thinking it may just be that way because of the cush drive. I can push really hard on the sprocket and make it get a bit closer to the rim (until I let go), which makes me think that when I tightened down the axle it'll probably fit together perfect. But if that's the case.. then I'm even more confused. To anyone running a 900rr rear wheel, what spacers are you using? I'm using the 900rr chain side spacer and the f4i exhaust side spacer. Did anyone else have problems like this fitting the wheel?

Re: 900rr rear wheel woes
Sounds sketchy to me
Re: 900rr rear wheel woes
Well the f4i's chain side spacer has a different diameter than the spacer on the exhaust side. On the 900rr the diameter is about the same, but the 900rr spacer is a cm or 2 longer. It was a little loose, but as soon as I tightened the axle is was perfect.
Re: 900rr rear wheel woes
Cool.. I'm just not a fan of mixing and matching spacers
