how to replace oil seals on 954 forks??
Re: how to replace oil seals on 954 forks??
It's pretty easy. lot easier then gsx-r forks.
Just remove the forks. then remove the small circ clip on top of the fork. take off the black adjuster ****. then start to open the 17mm? nut that is below the **** you removed. It will turn for 8-9 turns first, that is because the preload is winding up. After that it opens. it's easier this way then trying to hold the small aluminium rod in the centre, if you hold it, it usually gets messed up.
then remove the top cap. remove the spring.
remove the dust seal, you can use credit card to push it down.
under that you find circ clip again, remove that and bang the inner and outer part apart untill they come apart.
then replace the seals and put everything back. you need to drive the new seal in with pcv tubing or something like that.
954 manual can be found in go-fast-videos site, that helps also with the fluid amounts and stuff like that.
