600rr Idle mod - **TEACH**
installed the idle cable in place of the throttle stop on this 05' 600rr. Got it all back together and turn up the idle to 3500-4000.. It sits there for a sec then jumps to 5000-5500 and idle is weak as hell, bottom end power sucks.... whatsup...
Is there any valves on these bikes to let more air in or dump more fuel at a certain RPM?? kinda like gixxer's pair valves.
So I turn out the new idle cable out and turn up the stock cable to 3k and it runs fine and idle is so so as it always was....
TEACH were ya at, need a solution to this madness...

I found out that the stock idle cable is an air adjustment screw that richens the mix to raise the idle..
By installing an idle cable at the throttle stop on the TB's you open the butterflys to raise the idle....
But after I did mine it runs like azz on idle... I'm going thru all the sensors and vacum lines right now to make sure everything's hooked..

On a lot of bikes the stock idle cable just opens the throttle pulley, as if you were holding it open with your hand.
The F4i riders might be able to help, many run a cable inbetween TB 2 & 3 that holds all 4 TB open rather than just the first 1 & 2 (stock idle cable).

Ok, You have to put the original idle adjustment screw into the original position and find the stock setting for the air fuel mixture.....
Good luck!
Then remove the that original idle adjustment screw, take the air box off, you will have to cut like 1.5 - 2 inches off the tip, then install the screw to the valve flaps ajusters and it will pull like a tank, and you will have little flux in the idle...there is some when it's warming up but after that it's pretty steady at all settings.
The 600rr is totally differentthan the f4i....

Mines opening all four flys, and the new adjuster runs between 2 & 3... Stock idle adjuster is set at 1300 - Why would I remove it?

Up to you if you want to make the mod...
Re: 600rr Idle mod - **TEACH**
yep the trick is getting the stock one in the right position....
turn the new one all the way down and the get the stock one right and it should work better...
