Engine prep for stunting

I've heard horror stories of engines being starved of oil or oil overflowing into the airbox because of the bike being up too long. I have an 03 R1 and wanted to see if you have any suggestions or know of any measures that I need to take to prevent this. A how-to thread and/or pictures will be helpful!

c'mon now... I'm trying to work what I got! I don't got money to just go out and but a new bike because it starves or floods the airbox

Overfill the motor with about a 1/2 quart of oil... and unless your bike is upside down, or on 12 with you bangin' rev limiter that engine will be just fine. Besides, with an R1 the least of your worries is the motor... you should be more concerned with where you are going to be buying subframes from at a great price.

Cool thanks for the tip, but now will I have a problem with oil flooding out my airbox?

Ugh... the sub frame will snap that easily?

R1's are great bike... but not a learning bike. im sure some kid would trade his F4i for a decent liter bike in cali, check www.craigslist.com

You will be fine with wheelies/stoppies unless you are at 12 o'clock.. the oil pickup is in the middle of the pan on those bikes so run it just a little over full (top of the sight glass) and you'll be OK. I never had my R1 at 12 o'clock so you're on your own there.

Re: Engine prep for stunting

I know it may be hard to hear Mike but if you want to get into stunting seriously, do what everyone says: get an F4i. I tried turning a 1000RR into a stunter and the bike just isnt the best one for the job. I learnt my lesson the hard way and wasted a LOT of money in the conversion from street 1000RR--->stunt---->back to street--->sell and get F4i.
