636 tank issue

i bought a new tank from ebay for in case i put a hole in mine while denting it and the dude sent the tank to me with the gas cap on and closed but no key(aka) stolen. how do i get the cap off, ive looked through the fuel pump hole but theres no way to get at the part that locks the cap into the hole. any ideas besides going to a locksmith?

Thats what I did with the tank I got off ebay. I used a bit big enough to drill the cylinder out, and then used a screw driver to open it up. I have heard you can just beat a screwdriver into the lock, but I couldnt get that to work.

Something to watch when denting a 636 tank is the splash guard inside the tank though. It will bottom out pretty quick.
edit-nevermind about the splash guard, yours is an 06 and Im not sure what that tank is like

Thats why I always cut that splash guard out before you start denting

I wish thats what I would have done, but I didnt realize it was going to hit the bottom of the tank until it was already there.
