Siezed adjusters on forks
Anyone had problems with their Soft/Hard adjuster seizing up? B/c I tried to soften my forks b/c for some reason they were both adjusted to full Hard, so when I went to adjust them to soft the right side broke and the left side is completely seized. How do I fix this? Do I need to take apart the top of the forks to fix this?

if your talking about the damper rod, sounds like you need to get new internals... some times moisture accumulates in forks and can cause corrosion/rust...
simply unscrew the fork cap and you'll see a washer with a slit in it and above that washer is a nut, un-screw that nut while holding the fork cap with a wrench or what ever you used to unscrew it and the damper rod will come with it.
PS: you can do all of this with the forks still on the bike... it would help to unload the forks though with a jack under the exhaust.

Ok, this is as far as I made it... please help.
The picture on the left I have already removed the cap that goes around the damper rod, now how do I get the whole rod out. And how much do internals usually go for?

- This is what you need to UN screw
- This is the preload, this is what compresses your fork spring when tightend
- This is your damper rod, it ajust how fast the fluid moves through a valve to stop your fork from compressing to fast

Thanks for the color coded arrows.
But my problem is when I unscrew the top of the fork tube (the red arrow) once it gets to the last thread it almost sounds likes something is holding it in, almost as if you were loosening a bolt but kept pushing in on it at the same time... I can see all the threads are exposed but it just won't pull out. Is there something else in there holding it in place?

And just so I can do a one stop shop, since I'll be replacing the internals I'm going to change the fork fluid. I've heard debates about putting in a thicker fork fluid... any suggestions?

i run motul 15 weight in all my ****... just incase i wanna go really stiff... if your valves are ajusted properly... fork weight doesn't matter...
lower your front end and the internals will pop out.. under the fork cap theres a locking nut that stops the fork caps from un-screwing... it looks like 929 forks have a white spring coller, you may have to pull it down to see the locking nut.
