hey guys......ive been hearing a tick on the left side??/ im not sure what it could be..maybe it needs a valve adjustment???
i just put in some new oil and new filter..still makes it....
to me it sounds like a valve or lifter???
any help would be great....

sounds like it needs a valve adjust if it's startin to tick. if you hear a rattling noise on the right side of it that's the cam chain tensioner and that's a problem with the f4I, they need a manual adjuster to hold the tension.

 

ok..cool i already replaced the cam chain tens..(aka pain in the dick to do)...about 2 months ago..how long does it take to do a valve adjust?? got any idea....i would be prob looking at like a $200+ job on it right

it depends on how many of the valves need to be shimmed. its most likely gonna be pretty high$.

 

i know when i had my old bike i had the carbs resinked and the valves addjusted..and it was $210 cause i had the fairing still on when i gave it to them...but that was 4 years ago...but it shouldnt be more then $250???

 

The more valves that have to be shimmed, the longer it will take. Also it depends on the shops labor rate.

when the bike is running pull in your clutch and tell me if the noise goes away

 

what does that tell? just curious

 

because my clutch makes a ticking noise and when you pull in the clutch it goes away. i am pretty sure my clutch basket is shot

 

nope...it does it when you hit the throttle...and even when just sitting at a stop light...

 

yo was it quiet at all after u relaced the cct? i stll got the stock one in and my ***** loud. ... and when we ridin again??

 

yea man i put in a new stock cct over the winter ...that noise went totaly away....but now ive got this weird tick on the left side....

not sure when we can come up...or you guys come down...from what the weather chan is saying sundays all rain....but sat looks ok ill talk to dean and see what he wants to do....oh yea dean rock a no throttle one hand circles the other nite...**** was dope...
