lighting and wires...

ok well i got the acerbis headlight on my bike and i keep shortin out the fuses i think a part of this problem is i got every damn wire stuffed behind this light... what are some of you guys doing with the wires....besides having a jungle of wires...

its grounding out.. and causin the fuse to blow.. what i did was just tap into the harness (open plug) get a test light, and see which port gets hot when the key is on.. put the power in that.. and then simply ground the other to your horn bolt. done deal

but ill try that i really want to eliminate alot of wires completely.... but im deff goin to do that... thanks brody... ive fixed it a couple times tho and its workin rite now but im sure as soon as i get to the lot itll blow again... ive gone thru about 30 dollars in fuses

so instead of finding the root of the problem u just replace fuses... smrt... we are gonna make a cali trip soon.. wanna like hold hands or somethin?

under the tank, in the airbox..

cut off wires you arent going to use: turn signals, low beam and its relay.
stuff the hi beam relay under the tank so its out of the way, and extend the wires to the light if needed.

use A LOT of electrical tape. that way nothing touches anything its not supposed to...

yea just eliminate everything you wont need, and if u are gunna keep the wires around for FF then stuff them under the airbox and pull the light wires up to the front, or make your own harness type thing like Crotch said....

wiring is a nightmare, specially on thses old *** F4is... do it right and forget about it for good!
