does anybody know if i can use any other year. can i maybe use a 04 1000 gas tank, which will work so i can just bolt it on and go riding without any modification.

04 and 05 are the same in 600s but the 1000s are a little different

That actually looks like an 03 tank. Those things are huge. I've never seen anyone ever do that. That bike is a little of everything. It looks to have a custom sub frame, 02-03 rims definitely not a 04-05 exhaust but has 04 plastics. Thats a tough call. But it looks to be a 03 750 tank.

 

looks like an '03 tank, '03-'04 1000 exhaust can, and '05 600 plastic. I have a tank for sale if you need one from an '04 600. pm me if you do.
