Roger... how are the cages different? I thought they were the same.

All parts are interchangeable i thought...

Only difference is in the motor internals like slipper clutch etc, the Ecu, and the frame where the swingarm mounts...

Oh i know. not saying he was messing up, just some cages are more of a PITA than others. As long as the 600 has the swingarm in the stock location (which it should unless a racer owned it and moved it around) the cages should be the same. But hey, i've been wrong before...

I need to talk to Tim at FI this weekend so ill try to remember to ask him.

Re: 636 upper trip same as ZX6RR???

well i wasn't there when he was putting it on but i don't think it was the swing arm being adjusted because he got a new cage for the 600 and it bolted right up

03/04 doesnt matter the only difference in the frames is the adjustable swing arm pivot and the RR has a post welded on the left side of the frame for a side mount dampener.....Other then that everything bolts up, you can put a 600 motor in the 636 or vise versa....Same with cages unless they use the swing arm pivot as a mounting point, then there might be a problem as someone already mentioned....

In my case my 636 was an 03 and my friends 600 was also an 03, but Im on my 2nd frame and have no idea if my current frame is 03 or 04...

I know the pivot on the RR is adjustable but I dont know if it comes in a different location then the 636 from the factory....I thinkin more and more that you had the wrong year cage(05/06), because even with the swingarm pivot in a differnt location on the 600RR were talkin a few millimeteres difference here....And it still should have fit with some force..

BTW comming from a 636 the 600RR feels gutless!!!! Slipper clutch is fun thou, but I havent got bored enough yet, to split the cases and swap out the primary shafts so I can put the slipper on my 636....
