I have been having a lot of trouble with my 97 900rr. The bike seems to get a miss in after about 10 min in the lot, and now, I cut the pipe down and it runs like **** all the time.

I would assume I need smaller jets, is that possible or did I f u c k myself by cutting the pipe.

I want my 929 back!!!

 

the 900rr is a losing battle. I've had every year motor from '93 to '98, and they have something in them that decides as soon as it runs great the fun is over.
when they start to cough and miss you can change plugs, jetting and anything else...but it'll never run perfectly for very long again.
ditch it and get something fuel injected...at least they just blow up instead of teasing you by almost running good.

 

LOL!!! Yeah, I had a 929 and destroyed it, this is archaic compared to that bike. The problem is, that i love the bp on this thing. The fckn bike seriously just sits there and lets you ride wheelies for days!!

you're keeping it topped up with gas right....on reserve?

mine rode fine with the end cap cut clean off, until I got it rewelded.

try the plugs and airfilter
