a good friend of mine is kinda stupid. he bought a bike from some guy and the guy said he would get him the title in a few days. yep, im sure you guessed he never got the title. i ran the vin # for him and it isnt listed stolen or anything. so my question is what can he do to get a title and get it legal? any help is greatly apreciated. if no one has any ideas does anyone want some gsxr parts?

 

Check with DMV and see if you can get a duplicate. If not, Buy a frame on ebay.

 

or if you know any one with ashop u can get a lien on it and in like 45 days apply for a title as long as the loan company that he didnt pay doesnt claim it just make the bill realy high

 

apply for lost title at your local courthouse

 

here in oklahoma if you buy a car or bike and you get a notorized bill of sale and no title take it the tagoffice than they will contact the person and give them 10 buisness days to present you with a title and if they cant give you a title than the state presses charges and you have to got to court a couple of times and you eighter end up with a title or your money back and they end up with a huge fine and arent aloud to sell anything else unless they have a police officer present

no didnt get it off craigslist. its been sitting in my garage for about a 2 months waitin for him to do something to get it legal. hes not acomplished anything so i figured i try and see what i could figure out. i you seriously want the bike start makin offers i may just sell it for him rather than deal with it dependin of what happens with gettin title

Here in NC you can do an indemnity bond. You'll have to go to an insurance company to buy the bond (usually around $100) and then go to the department of motor vehicles to have the vehicle inspected (to make sure it isn't stolen). After that, you should be able to file the paperwork and get a title for it. I'm going to have to do that with one of my bikes.

 

its an 01 gsxr 600 with a 750 motor, full m4 exhaust, power commander. no tail plastics or rear seat but everything else is there
