hts -2000 aluminum repair ?

i just got soem of this stuff has anyone had sucess using it it is tough to heat aluminum up to the working temperature witha satndard propane torch.

I tried repairing my oil pan threads but couldnt get the stuff to stick to the aluminum it comes off .

Any tips is this stuff useful?

I've used Lumiweld to stick the rear damper mount back on my TL1000S before. It's put up with 1000's of miles of fast road work on bumpy roads, a pounding round the Isle of Man, and a track day since.

It's gotta be as strong as the original casting at least.

The biggest problem is that the frame acts as a heat sink. I stripped the bike back to just the frame, and had to use a huge torch to get the heat in.

I guess I gotta practice but its tough to fill the hole then quickly and get the bolt in flushly to recast a new thread .

i cant seem to get enough heat on the base metal .
