05 gsxr 750 throttle issue
05 gsxr 750 throttle issue
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have an 05 gixxer 750 w/1900 miles on it. When I start it, it want's to rev up to like 5 grand by itself. I actually have to push the throttle forward to get it to stay at idle speed but it is resting at a fully closed position. As long as I am holding it forward (and there really isn't much forward movement available), it will sit at idle like it should. But as soon as I let it rest on it's own, it revs up again. The throttle is not physically moving on it's own, the engine just revs up when it's in it's normal resting position.
I've checked the slack/play in the throttle cables and neither of them seems to be overly tight or loose. I don't have any FI lights on or anything.
Could this be a bad ECU or throttle position sensor or something? What should I look for? A friend suggested that I disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect it to see if it just needs to re-sync some how.
I just bought the manual off of e-bay but I thought I would throw this out in case anyone has ever heard of this happening.

Re: 05 gsxr 750 throttle issue
I would double check your throttle cables. Loosen them up so there is more play on the throttle.
If you turn your bars does it rev up or down?
sounds like it's the cables due to the push situation
