clutch blew up mid wheelie
clutch blew up mid wheelie
i got a 99 zx6r and i have had clutch issues since the day i bought the bike.. my clutch started slipping so i replaced the fibers... lasted a few months then started slipp9ing again..
so i replaced the fibers and steels.. but this time i went with an after market fiber just too see.. well today i was holding some 1st gear bp better than ever before and CRACK clutch blew up and came down super hard..
I guess my poiint is anyone have a rough time with these bikes? Im thinking i should just sell it and buy an f4i or a gixxer, something that everyone rocks and we know can handle it..

Re: clutch blew up mid wheelie
yeah clutch basket and clutch boss pitt after a few thousand wheelies and ur fibers wedge and steels wedge then wha laa kaboom. it could have been treated if you examind your clutch parts before just replacing fibers. a.k.a "preventive maintence"
Re: clutch blew up mid wheelie
s)-(it makes me want to pull the basket on my kawi just to see. i did see a motor from an 02 on ebay a day or two ago. there's usually a 99-02 motor on there every other week. far as i know about the motors themselves the 98-9 motors no chrome sleves the 00-2 motors are sleved but the pistons are tight as hell in the motor making them potentially slower. good luck with the search
