How does oil get in my airbox?
So I was practicing last night and had a good off where my bike came to rest on the left side. Well I got up and took a break to take a once over to make sure I didn't break anything. Well everything looked fine until I saw oil dripping off my stator. I thought I had cracked my stator. So I pop the tank and look around and see there's oil around my airbox. Now I'm not new to having a lil oil in there and having a lil white smoke coming from the exhaust. So open my airbox up and there's about a half quart of oil in my airbox. I'd like to know how this happens. Anyone?
Re: How does oil get in my airbox?
that is a common problem for f4i. only when you drop it on the left. most people remove the breather hose from the engine to the air box, plug the air box side, and add a seperate air filter for the engine breather.
this way if you drop the bike on the side, you just get some oil spil, not a hydrolocked motor risking bent rods and f'd engine
