636 Radiator support solutions

I searched and nothing about supporting the radiators. While back I took off my upper and fairings and went streetfighter..Well the mounts broke on my radiator really fast. What are some good support solutions I could do to give better support to my radiator? The top mount that connects to the frame where the horn is ripped off the rad aswell. I have my sidefairings back on but i have a half-asses support for the bottom back of the rad and the fairing bolts on the sides are holding it on. Any help would be appreciated.

T-Neck showed me his at Stuntfest in Ohio, his mounts were ripped off the one side too, he just used a think, monster sized zip-tie and wrapped it all the way under the bottom of the radiator and up to the frame. Worked great, held tight, he said it had been on there for 3-4 months in FLA heat with no melting problems! try that for a cheap/easy fix, that's what i plan to do if my mounts break

Uhmm, well i suppose that would work great... the one T used was about 1/2" wide, probably would have to be AT LEAST 2 feet long...

He wrapped one around the frame, then one around the radiator, looping the one that held the rad. thru the one that was around the frame... seemed like it worked great

Re: 636 Radiator support solutions

I just fixed one for a friend of mine.I laid a .5 strip of aluminum on top of the core and welded the strip to the core and the mounts to the strip.I also ran strips down to the bottom of the radiator, that way it is not just pulling on the tabs when you come down hard. This thing will never break after that.If you cant weld aluminum it will probably cost you 20-30 bucks at your local welders.

Re: 636 Radiator support solutions

Mine used to rip off untill I had the tabs welded to the top of the rad, after having them welded they never broke again.....
