Anyone with an f I cage knows that covers are not cheap. My problem is that there is some small damages on the stator coils. I dont think it would cause a problem but i want other opinions. Has anyone had this happen? I tried the search thing but dont feel like reading a bunch of bs all night. ill post pics when the camera has enough charge.

 

come on man with all the 636 out there someone has to have had this happen

if there is any damage to the winding it will not get a proper charge and you will be push starting the bike after the battery runs low

That doesnt look too bad Id change the cover and try it again. With a new cover it shouldnt rub anymore so you should be fine as long as it hasnt been damadged too badly.....

Worse case you'll need a new coil your rotor looks ok...

 

everyone i have talked to said the stator is no good when a strand of the winding breaks. im so pissed off today i could kill someone. this had to happen when mn has the nicest day so far this season and all my friends are at the lot

 

Anyone know if these can be rewound??? i have a shop that i work with that could do it. Anyone ever do it??
