Im am going to repaint my Honda CM gas tank. What do I need to do if I am going to use spray paint.

Is the tank metal or plastic? What shape is the paint in right now? I paint cars for a living and I can't tell you how to prep without knowing what shape it is in. but if you are just gonna spray paint it wet sand the tank with some 400 and finish it out with 600 and start parting just make sure it is all sanded and you don't see any shiney spots.

 

The tank is metal. Should I sand it down to metal?

 

Oh yeah and the tank does have a few dents in it but I dont really care because im jest going to spray paint it. But it does not have any rust.
