Re: Bent Forks

sorry to say it..but you need to buy new forks..u cant just bend them back
when you bend aluminum..it weakens the material..thus meaning if you bent them back..the next time you come down hard..they could just snap and you could be in one hell of a pickle **** lol

Re: Bent Forks

it looks to me like it just tweaked the wheel between the forks, take it to a tree or a wall and slam the tire back the way it needs to go against it and it should go back, you might try loostening the tripple clamp bolts a little first

yea man loosen the triples and you can do it like that to make the wheel/bars point straight..no big deal.

if the forks compress fine, theyre not bent, you'll know if you got a bent fork, they dont compress, they just sieze up

now go ride some wheelies!!

Yehhhhy they compress fine its just like turning a corner to go straght if ya know what i mean...
So lets make certian i got this right ive only been into bikes bout 6 months...
lossen of the forks at the tripple ... do i have to loosen them both above and below the light???... Do i loosen both sides???..
Then smack it straght with my dead blow mallet and retighten...

yes loosen them both above and below the light.. not to much though, and i wouldnt smack it w/ a hammer, just put it against the wall and turn the bars till its straight

hes got it right....... i stand in front of my bike.....put the wheel between my knees and twist till straight..... have a buddy tighten em while its straight......

if you really want to know if they are bent...... take em off and put a metal ruller or any other straight edge on em and see if you have a gap.... prob won't make a diff anyway if they are tweeked a little.......
mark

Re: Bent Forks

Who tought you how to take pictures??? Take a picture from near ground level pointing directly at the front T"I"RE. All of your pictures from the front are off to the side a bit... you need to take a picture that is in the dead center of the T"I"RE and post up.
