Front end chatter
Front end chatter
Sometimes when I'm trying to get a stoppie going, the forks vibrate/chatter sort of. New pads, lines and fluid...so those shouldn't be an option. it just started saturday. Should I bleed the brakes and see if that works? Thanks for the help too gents.

speaking of rebound... i never really messed with my fork setting. I roll about 200 ft but i think i could go further if my forks didnt bounch so much. anyone got any
on the top and bottom adjustments on a gsxr 6? Re: Front end chatter
same thing happened to me two different times and two different ways..........
1) Glazed brakepads WILL cause a chatter from the brakes, especiallly as you start to sow down in an endo from rolling it out from speed.
2) Loose steering head bearings WILL cause chatter, especially when going to pull an endo up.
I take VERY good care of my bike when it comes to maintenance and I still forget from time to time to tighten the steering head bearings, and its fairly simple to do, pull the top triple and you should be able tell if anything is loose and tighten it up pretty easy.
Also, I've smoked a set of HH pads up front in a WEEKEND of rolling endoes, so if you went that route, trash em and get you some stockers.

I usually take my left hand off when I do it and put it where the top triple meet the frame neck and you can tell really easy..........good luck man
so just like a bike (mtn bike). I'll check tonight. I'll also check if the rotors are loose. was a little intoxicated when i posted last night. might get new front pads just to be safe.
Re: Front end chatter
so it's not the head bearings. when I roll the bike backward slow and hit the front brake and let off...it makes a tap/clank sound from the left pad area. new brake pads?

When my pads were glazed, they looked like someone had taken a butter knife and spread the surface of the pad smooth.
Hope that helps.

I'll have to check next week one night. the sound comes from the left front caliper area, right there. you can see the pads move when you let off the brake when it's rolling backwards. I'm not gonna stop wheelieing but the quest for my garbage stoppies is off til I get this fixed.

I have a ton of micrometers here at work (the other building). I'll pull them off and check to see if they're good to go. and the trueness....I use a flat worktable.
