ok here is the whole story. i blew the engne in my 00 750 so i put in an o4 750 engine! so now this is what i hav

*04 engine
*04 wiringharness and CDI/ECU
*04 dash
*o4exhaust
*04 airbox
--------------------------

still using
*00 ignition
*00 fuelpump

my problem is though the bike wont run, it will crank over but has no spark and the fuel pump wont prime. if i by-pass the wiring haness the fuel pump works, and when i turn the ignition to ON the dash lights up and the butterflys move in the injector system.
thing is though when i push ''start'' it will crank and crank and crank but of cause with no fuel or spark it wont fire up,

i have used the serch function to avoid a repost but only found a similar problem with the the fuel pump on an f4i.
any help would be greatly appreiated as i havent been able to ride in over 3 months now.

I'd try using the right ignition and fuel pump. Thats just me tho

 

Change the ignition first see if that does it. That gotta be the main problem.

 

00 ignition is different from the 04...

 

Your ignition will also control the fuel pump.

Change that first. Without the ignition, the bike won't recognize the fuel pump.
The only thing you might get into after you change the fuel pump would be insufficient pressure from the fuel pump. I am not sure of the output pressure on that, but it did possibly change.

 

funny thing is though is that my 00 ignition will start my mates 96 gsxr600 wtf? but i will try and sorce an ignition any one wrecking an 04?

i got the exact same problem with my 01 gsxr 600..I guess I will try another ignition now..

 

The 00 Ignition switch will not work on the 04 motor........I know %150 that it will not work....been there done that! get a 04+ ignition switch and it should start right up

 

Im using the 00-03 fuel pump....No problems there just re-wire the connector to fit the 04+ harness.....The igniton looks exactly the same even the clip fits perfect but the resistors or whatever inside and wiring are very different and it wont send power where it needs too....

 

anyone know if the 03 ignition will work on the 01 cause that seems to be the last thing that would be causing my bike to not have spark or fuel.

It should, everything else on the 01-03 600's is exchangable.

 

its your feul pump, after you change that ignition like every one says and it still wont work, then change your pump.
i got an 03 and my bike did the same thing. feul pump went bad after one season of riding..

 

So youve tried using a 00-03 ignition on an 04+ motor right?


His pump works fine he said he tested it! His ignition isnt turning it on because its not the right one for the motor Like Ive said Ive been through this exact problem already, got the right igniton and it fired right up first shot.

 

dude trust me my bike did the same ****. thats why i said change the ignition first like you guys said.

i hotwired my pump and it worked, till i let the clutch out.. changed the pump never had a problem there.

but CHANGE THAT IGNITION FIRST. the computer cant read it. 03 and 04 are completely different... thats why i have an o4 750 motor just chilling with nothing to do, cuz it woulnd fit in my 03 frame....

any one need an 04 motor with wirehaness and computer??
ill sell it for a 1000 with swing arm.

 

hopefully im borrowing a mates 04 ignition to see if that is the problem. hopefully it is!

 

ok guys problem sorted! i bought an 04 ignition, pluged it in and it fired straight up!!! thanks every onee for your help, it saved me a lot af headache!
