F3 dirtbike bar conversion???

I'm trying to mount dirtbike bars on my 98' F3. Just wondering where's a good place to have cables made up for the added length? Also... is it safe to drill holes in the upper triple tree for dirtbike bar mounts? What's the best way to do that? I'm also in need of a right peg bracket and right side tail section if anyone's got em! Thanks.

i have a f3 with db bars and its just drilled out with tag bar clamps. I use the stock cables. Just route them different. They will work.

One clip was already broken when I bought it, and I'd rather have dirtbike bars.

Is it strong enough to hold for regular riding... no stunting???

I bought a wrecked bike. No plastics. I had the upper fairing stay, but the right side clip on was already busted. Rather than build the bike back to stock condition... I figured it'd be cheaper turning it into a "streetfighter" with dirtbike bars.

Thanks for your opinion... but I'll stick with what I'm doing. Just looking for some answers please.

Did you use stock cables? How about the front brake hose or the choke cable??

try getting a clutch cable from a honda 599. they have the f3 motor on a standard frame with db type bars. the throttle cable will work.

I used this kind of risers on my F2, they work, but my contact key didn't had enough space to get in or out...

I also needed longer gas cables, and a longer clutch cable...

But it's working now, I cut of a bit from the upper of the key, and now it fits

Where did you get your cables made? Motion pro said they'd make em for $30 each. But at 4 cables and shipping that's about $130. I'm looking for a cheaper way, before I order em up. Thanks for the help!

stock throttle cables, just reroute them. it'll be tight but they work
you *can get teh stock clutch cable to fit, but it'll have some tight bends in it and be annoying to pull in alot. Get a cable for a hornet, is like 3 inches longer and makes all the difference in pull ease.
Brake lines need to be replaced. get stainless lines for ANY "naked sportbike" Hornet, bandit, kawi Z1000 will all work. (bandit **** is alwayscheap)
drill the top triple, and dont worry about it. If you crash hard enough to break it, chances are it woulda broken anyway.
