900 rr rearbrake = weak

Ok, so here's the thing: i ride a 900 rr and the rear brake is real weak in comparison to other bikes. the handbrake also is pretty weak, cant use it with one finger. i got the standard master cilinder for the footbrake, and a yzf 600 thundercat master for the handbrake.. what can be done about this?

Re: 900 rr rearbrake = weak

I had the same thing... Changed the rear braking disc, changed the pads (up to 3 times, all different brands) changed my stock rubber braking lines for steel braided braking lines, and even got another caliper... From a much newer model...

Damn, nothing really worked, my brake still s*cked ***...

But then, I decided to change the foot peg with the braking pedal and all the **** on there... Replaced it for a newer one, and nog my rear brake is much better :YEAH Well, atleast my footbrake is...

My handbrake still isn't what I want it to be, but I've bought a cbr1000rr master for the HB, so I will try that **** out...

Owh, and a friend of mine, (klaas, je weet wel Ali) who also rocks an F3, like me, changed the stock rear caliper for a R1 caliper, and he says it rocks, ad brakes soooo perfect... But hell, what you're problem is, I don't really know...

But try what I did, replace everything in little steps, and in one way or another, you're brake will work great finally

Need more info.
When you say "weak" do you mean its real easy to push the pedal down, or does the pedal feel right, but not stop the bike?

Do you have a single or dual caliper handbrake setup?

Did you spill any fluid on the pads or rotor when you bled your system?

I think with "weak" he means, brake feels normal, but just doesn't stop the bike... He has a single caliper Handbrake setup...

Sorry for answering those questions for you Alex, but this save's time

Uhm, just like me, He thought his rear brake was weak... The pressure was ok, but it didn't do nothing... Atleast, I think that's what he told me...

And I had the same problem, my brake was f*cked up, now it's good again...

But maybe I will also install a rear R1 caliper once...

Re: 900 rr rearbrake = weak

Maybe your caliper is going bad. It happens now and then. Try new pads first, just to see.

i believe 954/929 shifter rear set work with 900rr's so the brake side should work to?

Re: 900 rr rearbrake = weak

zijn je remblokken niet geglazuurd dat gebeurd namelijk snel..
probeer die eerst te vervangen.

Change your brakepads

yea true,

Id take the caliper off and check the sliders... they allow both pads to work at the same time. they get corrosion in them all the time, and you only use one pad.

while your in there, take some sandpaper to the surface of the brake pad, and to the surface of the rotor. take the glaze off
