929 head lock problem

everythings ok on my first ride today, park the bike go upstairs for about an hour. when i come down, the bike wont go out of the lock position (all the way to the left). i have one key that is slightly bent so i figure that i had done something to it to make it not work. get my other key and same thing.

what the heck do i do? what could possibly cause that? i tried knocking it around a little, messing with the key hole, rolling the bike around, etc.

i would really appreciate your help guys. thanks alot.

Re: 929 head lock problem

Whenever mine locked... I would pull hard on the left clip on and twist the key. Try jiggling the handlebars back and forth while turning the key to unlock it. Once you get it unlocked, I suggest you take it apart and put some axle grease in the locking mechanism so that doesn't happen anymore.

Got me dude... My 929 did that to me a couple times, so I took it apart and put axle grease on the inside where the pin slides to lock it. Never had a problem again... don't know what to tell you?

Re: 929 head lock problem

sorry to bump this old thread but i just wanted to see if anyone else had any advice before i take it in to the shop.

unfortunatley i dont have the resources or the time to take the piece apart.

it has been raining a lot out here and one guy told me that i would probably need a new lock set.

so before i do anything that expensive i was just looking to see what you guys thought. any help would be appreciated. thanks again.
