heres the deal, at the spot on my quest for circles, and then boom crash,
problem is i broke the tab off the frame and the tab off the subframe where the crash cage bolts up,not to worried about the subframe can replace that,but i am worried about the frame because if i get the tab welded back on when i hit the bar i am worried that the weld will break,guy i ride with got his subframe welded and first time he scrapped it it broke again,my first question is has anybody had this expierence with the FI cages,and what do you think i should do fix it or what, have a guy with a salvage frame with title for like 400 bucks that might be the best option, any advice appreciated thanks

 

id buy the frame fixing frames turns into a nightmare

 

if you weld it, talk to somone who knows bout it and how to brace it good, especially subframe and the frame, might help.. especially gixxers, they def need it

 

yeah i will have to have that done,i talked to someone today and they said instead of welding the tabs back on to make a big ball of weld where the tab used to be then grind it back to original shape and finally, tap it,but i am still questioning how strong its gonna be

 

this is an easy fix bro. i have to get one side of mine welded back again. just been lazy. but you need 2 flat steel strapes wich you bolt from the rear set to the pillion peg. hope this helps dude

 

i think getting the strips is a better idea than getting it welded, what do you think for the material of the strips,chromoly like my cage or is there another material that is better? thanks everyone
