Painting?

Hey, how do I go about painting a bike? Like, I know how to paint cars, and I've done a few, but like, do I have to do anything special to prep the plastic? Like, am I supposed to sand it, or does that gouge it? If I AM supposed to sand it, what grit paper should I use? Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Painting?

Bikes are the same as painting a car. It just takes 1/4 of the time.

yeah ya gotta sand it and ya its gonna gouge it. Sand it with 150 dry (I've read on here that a lot of guys use 220 wet also) and use a 2k urethane surfacer for your undercoat. from there prep and paint it like you would a car.

Re: Painting?

Dont sand with sandpaper, go to KOI paint and supply and get what is called Scuff Stuff and a few scuff pads....cleans and scuffs at the same time, spray a coat of sealer for the first coat, 2 coats of color and 2 coats of clear...done
