Engine swap question????

I'm interested in swapping a 04 gsx-r 1000 engine into my 03 gsx-r 600 frame.
I did a search on here but it didn't answer all my questions. Has anybody had any experience doing this? I know that the engine wont mount up correctly to the frame but I know they sell engine brackets that allow this. I also heard you can cut and re-weld the motor mounts. Does anybody have any experience doing this and also the name of a company that sells these engine brackets? If anybody knows anything please post up.

the brackets are **** if you plan on stunting. It's really not even worth doing. The 1k engine has more mounting points than are on the 600 frame. Plus to even get it in the frame you have to shave 10mm off the inside of the frame due to the width of the 1k engine. Unless you have all you can eat time at a machine shop with a tig and somebody that knows how to use it dont even bother.

Re: Engine swap question????

man, you can do it. You just have to know your way around a shop and have the right tools. If you are planning on buying a bracket you will have a pile of junk. If you plan on having a welder at a shop fab it up its going to be cheaper to buy a 1K frame if you want it done right. I did a 750 into a 600 and it really wasnt worth it in the end.
