Powers Cage Again..(pictures)

K, now I believe I understand how it lines up and all. But here is something I dont get...

Why are there 7 hex bolts? When on each side of the cage, there only appears to be 3 locations to place bolts, 1 of which connects the bottom together, thus only using 1 bolt...

Tell me what ya think...

Bolts...

Cage2

Cage3

Cage1

In this last picture, the top left is where I meant both sides will connect together using 1 bolt and nut, I think that would use the silver one.

But can you see what I mean? It would seem like I have 2 Hex bolts left over?

Re: Powers Cage Again..(pictures)

Lol nah, no instructions. I mean its not like its a huge brain buster or anything. I just wanna make sure Im putting the right bolts in the right places is all, ya know what im sayin? I have the general idea, once I can confirm I got the bolts in the right places, it shouldnt take to long to slap on.

Re: Powers Cage Again..(pictures)

The short nut and bolt connect both cages together at the bottom.

It looks like the rest of those bolts are your main mounts.

That silver object is your slider--once you install the cage you slip those in and tighten the bolt. Then when you drop your bike, the end breaks off and you get really pissed because its stuck inside the cage. So I would'nt even use those-I ended up throwing mine away a long time ago.

Re: Powers Cage Again..(pictures)

Thanks man, finally, the case is solved. By the way, the sliders, they stay in when I tighten em? I assume they just spread apart? Because its not like they bolt onto anything.

Re: Powers Cage Again..(pictures)

shwew..... you made that wayyy too difficult

i like the madden style picture though, but being a stunter you need to just throw that **** on there and make it work... then sweep the left over parts/bolts into a box and pretend its ok

Powers: 1

I'm still waiting for my cage from Powers. I sent my busted cage back to them LAST YEAR. They ignore my phone calls and when i get through they feed me bullshit. Never again.

Its so simple its stupid--they have a 1 year guarantee on their cages. THey either repair or replace. I bought my cage October '04 it busted my stator in Jan '05 and I sent it back to them in Feb '05 right after stuntwars. I even showed him my cage at stuntwars. It lasted 3 MONTHS.

All I gotta say is good luck with their GARBAGE service man.

I didnt know htey had a gurantee on them. Talk to ED Legion over on CycleForums. I think he can get through to Matt Powers personally.

Maybe Ed could do something for you?

Their new designs look good but their older design (the one you have) is ****! They built the cage to close to the motor.........

My 636 cage would take no more than 2 good hits on the left side before it bent in and touched the oilpan and cracked it.

Dude do you have any spots up in DE? Your really not to far from Va Beach--we should link up sometime.

Anyways--here's the reason I sent my Powers back:

Of course I had the old design but oh well. Keep us updated on your cage!
