2002 929/954 forks

Anyone know the proper amount of fork oil to put in them. Im redoing my seals. I heard about 1 1/2 inches from the top. but i wanna know for sure. I also got 10W will that be ok??

Service manual says:

17.3 oz. +/- 0.08 oz.

Once the level has stabilized measure from the top of the fork slider down to the fluid and it should be 73mm or 2.9 inches.

you need to pump the damper rod untill you hear no air in the damper, then measure to the top,measure when fork is totally compressed and there is no spring in it.

ok umm , slider as in the plastic white thing as u slide the tube down right?
right under the part that threads to the top of the fork tube?

yeah, measure from the top of the fork tube (where the giant blue fork cap gets screwed onto the fork tube) down to the fluid. Make sure that the fork tube is all the way down the slider when you take the measurement (so your not holding the tube up at all).......
